Thank you for choosing to attend and for considering the Newman Family as a secondary school for your child. We fully appreciate that this is a crucial time in your child’s life and do hope that this evening reassures you that our school offers a supportive yet appropriately challenging environment. We are a community of caritas, the love that comes from God, and our aim is to develop happy and healthy students who are prepared and ready to live fulfilled and purposeful lives.

Obviously, we are very proud of Cardinal Newman – generations of wonderful students and staff have brought it to its current position as one of the highest performing secondary schools in the area, and we are confident that our next generation of students will raise this excellence even further.

We were delighted that last term, when Ofsted visited, they judged us to be Outstanding. You have access to many statistics about schools’ results nationally and in the City but this event is not about figures; rather it is about who we are, what we would wish for your child, and how we will work with you to foster a partnership through the coming years. 

As you tour the school, journey in your child’s footsteps, attend the introductory talk but most of all, speak with our students and staff and get a feel for us as a Newman Family, for it is people working together who make a school, not buildings. 

How the event will work

We will be hosting three '1 hour' tours throughout the day, led by one of our students to see how a typical day at school takes place at Newman; you can book onto one of our tours via the section below. The evening is then another opportunity for you to take a look around our site, as well as speak to our staff about what you can expect. If you would like to book a day tour and then come back in the evening, then you can do so by securing your places below.
