First Trophy win for our Bridge Club! | February 2024

On Friday, the 2nd of February, our Bridge Club participated in the Surrey Schools Cup and achieved a significant milestone by winning their first trophy!

They fielded three teams of four players each. In the main cup competition, they secured a commendable 6th place out of 9 teams, which was impressive considering the caliber of their opponents, which included England internationals and long-time learners.

Additionally, in the salver competition, they clinched the 3rd position, narrowly missing out on second place in the final moments. Their newest players from year 12 competed in the Crystal Cup, where they excelled and proudly claimed the top spot, bringing home the trophy. Simon Sparrow (Sociology Teacher and Bridge Club Leader) has stated "I am immensely proud of all our students, who demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship and skill, reflecting positively on both our school and the game of bridge."

Well done to all students involved! A fantastic achievement and we can't wait to see the continuous success!
