Peer mentors from Cardinal Newman have been working with year 5 and 6 students at Cottesmore Catholic Primary School in Hove, as part of a transition mentoring scheme to support students of colour.
The programme allows the primary students to think about their goals and address any questions they may have about starting secondary school. The students are also working together to prepare a presentation celebrating their individual heritage and culture. The aim is to present these together in assemblies.
This has been a great initiative for our Newman students to work with other students within our Newman Family, something we hope to continue!
